Digital Evidence
With the advent of digital photography and with pupils using
an increasingly wide range of software programs as part of
their education, more and more of the learning that is happening
in school is now being recorded in digital form. Areas of
learning such as personal, social, emotional, physical and
creative development can be hard to document using traditional
paper records. Schools are finding that media files, such
as photos, video clips and voice/sound recordings are powerful
tools with which to demonstrate how they are complying with
inspection criteria and other government strategies and initiatives.
Search, Find and Display
School Life solves the problem of organising, locating
and displaying all of this material and puts the items you
need at your fingertips. A sophisticated search facility makes
it possible to search for files by date, by curriculum area,
by class and by individual child. In this way it becomes possible
to demonstrate progress over time, to create clear profiles
for a particular pupil or for a year group and to bring to
life the character and the ‘life’ of the school.
The ability to store different combinations of files for different
demonstration purposes without duplication, and display options
including multi-media slideshows and a school ‘Lifeline’
provide a number of flexible and attractive ways to show off
the school to best advantage.
