A Single, Simple Interface
School Life provides staff and pupils with a single way to import photos, video clips, sound recordings and scans and a single place to organise and access all the documents that have been created on the computer. Files and documents can be organised in multiple ways without duplication and linked to people, events, projects or curriculum areas.

Privacy
Access to these media files is difficult to control effectively using just the tools provided with Windows. School Life provides built-in privacy controls to enable teachers and administrative staff to easily control access to all items. Not only is this more secure but crucially it provides for wider accessibility.

Creative Potential
Media items can be assembled into digital slideshows incorporating photos, video, scanned documents and scrolling story texts with background music and verbal annotation. Scrapbooks can be uploaded to the school web-site so that parents can view them from home. Slideshows showcasing children's work can be written to CDs and passed on (or sold) to parents for display on a home computer. There is great scope for showing repeating slideshows on a large monitor screen in the school entrance hall to entertain and inform waiting parents and other school visitors.
