As a record that can be written to a CD and passed on to parents,
portfolios are a great way to give each child a personal record
of what they have experienced and achieved during the year.
Children take pride and pleasure in seeing their portfolio
grow over the course of a year. But portfolios also serve
an important function for the school, as an impressive and
easy way to demostrate the work being done, either by a typical
pupil as an example of a year group, or by a special needs
pupil whose progress is being specifically monitored.
All in One Place
School Life makes it possible for pupils to gather
together in one location all the photos, scanned art work,
audio and video files that relate to them and that illustrate
their achievements and experiences in school.
Practical and Presentable
Portfolios can function either primarily as a way to display
and share material, in the form of multi-media
slideshows and transportable web pages or as a practical
desktop tool for locating and accessing all of a pupil’s
digital files, including work done in writing, painting and
presentation programs.
